Sole fell off boots after 1 month of wearing them

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - After a month on concrete, the sole came off.
  • - The soles are glued, not sewn, and the left boot fell apart quickly.
  • - The label says Made in China.
Updated by user Feb 23, 2026

Don't buy the boots to begin with. Buy a different brand. This product is obviously not what it used to be and quite frankly I feel they have become garbage.

Original review updated Feb 05, 2026

1 month of wearing these boots mostly on concrete floors, the sole comes off. I stepped out of my truck this morning and, as I walked to the building for work, I heard what sounded like a flip flop.

The pictures explain it all. The sole isn't sewn on; it's glued, and they forgot the glue! So fun fact, the left boot also fell apart within a couple hrs. Now I currently have screws holding the soles on both boots for the next 12 hrs.

This is such crap. MADE IN CHINA RIGHT ON THE LABEL.

My boots failed right out of the box and this isn't the first time

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Wore boots ~35 min; sole already failing.
  • - One boot's sole disintegrated; the other is cracking.
  • - Water vapor in the warehouse may be the cause.
Original review updated Jan 19, 2026

I wore the boots for the first time today. It was around 35 minutes duration light use and the sole was already falling apart.

Just cut the tags off the boot this morning it is only 9:30 AM and the soles of one of the two boots have disintegrated and the other is cracking. See images attached. I just read online that water vapor in the warehouse can cause this problem. If it is a known issue then the company should redesign the soles of the boot so it doesn't happen.

I don't want boots that break down under a little water vapor. Who's with me!

Also this happened with the pair I gave my uncle which was embarrassing.

That is why I said it isn't the first time. 2 dollar temu shoes last longer than this garbage.

Peace out

Pros:
  • Good for a prank if you want to give someone a pair of boots that will fall apart immediately
Cons:
  • Boots dont even last a day

User's recommendation: Avoid this company. The boots go bad faster than day old lasagna left on the counter

Defective shoes and boots.

AI Highlights

Approximately 5 years ago I purchased a pair of black Wolverine Durashock shoes and later black Wolverine non-lace boots. Work changes caused me not to wear them for 5 years; neither pair was ever worn.

Now when I need them, I see both pairs: the soles are ruined. The shoe soles have turned into a soft sticky goo. The boots are a crumbly mess similar to cheese. There is no way expensive footwear should break down while in clean, dry storage.

This doesn't occur with Georgia Boots. I will never purchase Bates/Wolverine again, nor can I recommend them to anyone.

Poor quality

AI Highlights
  • - Bought Feb 2023; boots show limited use.
  • - 3 inch sole separation; warranty is one year.
  • - Alyea suggested the boots might have dried out.
Wolverine - Poor quality

I have a pair of wolverine boots I bought in Feb. Of 2023.

The boots look brand new as I have given them limited use. Today I noticed a 3 inch separation of the sole of the boot from the upper. Wolverine has a one year warranty. I called the company and was not given any satisfaction.

The person I talked to ( Alyea) asked if the boots were not worn for extended periods. I asked what that had to do with the sole separating. She said the boots might have dryed out.

So let's think, if I don't wear my boots they will disintegrate?. No more Wolverines for me.

Loss:

Pros:
  • Fit good
Cons:
  • Shoddy workmanship

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Do not buy wolverine boots, go with a quality boot, not made in Bangladesh. You will save in the long run.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. They gave me a discount equal to what I had asked for.

Original review May 17, 2024

I'm walking down the street, happy as can be, when my boot completely falls apart. It looks like it was full of dirt.

I was startled, to say the least. I'm quite disappointed and do not understand.

I don't have the box or receipt. I'm looking at knee surgery and luckily, I didn't injure myself.

Problem with boots

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Boots last ~7 months, feel heavy, and aren't waterproof.
  • - Inconsistent fit and quality: wrong size, hurting insoles, interiors coming apart.

I have been buying my husband wolverine boots for years. He really likes them.

They only last about 7 months. This last pair I bought him are almost the same as he always gets. They were out of the ones I always get him salesman said oh no their pretty much the same same fit everything. Totally wrong.

Took them home they were suppoaws to be a size 10 didnt fit went back got another pair. He wore them nit even a month new insoles still hurt. Insides all coming apart. Supposes to be water proof their not.

He says they are so heavy like your wearing bricks on your feet. Made his feet so sore couldnt hardly walk. Now he has to shell out more money for a new pair. I talked to a customer service rep from wolverine an she was gonna help me but nevwe got a call back from her.

Talked to a man a couple days ago he was no help. Saying there a nothing they can do about it. I bought the boots on February 17 2024. Got them dor a birthday present his birthday is on valentines day.

I might have to getvhim a different brand. The he uawd to wear they helped us out when we had a problem. Sent us a new pair on the ones he used to always wear. I just some kind of answers on whatbyall can do before I have to get a new pair.

He really needs his boots for work. Im sad this is happening. Thanks again for your time. Margaret Johnson.
